Dogs, most dogs, live to please their humans no matter what the cost. They will work, and work hard, to do so. Look at all of the dogs that risk their lives in the line of police work here at home or as military working dogs overseas every single day. Do you think these dogs do so because they are adrenaline junkies or care about a mission? No, they do so because they are trained to do as such and live to fulfill their training and please the people around them.
I’m not saying you’re right or wrong here. Its hard to tell at the end of the day if the dog minds or doesn’t mind, but what I can’t stop thinking about here is the fact that the dogs primary mission in life is to please its humans. It knows that going along on these dangerous adventures is what pleases them and so off it goes with pleasure. As long as the dog is happy (and safe!) I guess all is right in the world no matter what.
