[The Great (Charles) Blondin](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Blondin) was a French Tightrope Artist in the mid-1800s who was the first person to cross Niagara Falls on a tightrope.
He then went on to re-accomplish the feat in a variety of different ways, blindfolded, in a sack, [pushing a wheelbarrow](http://i.imgur.com/HvJ9qPt.jpg), on stilts, cooking an omelette midway along the rope and standing on a chair with only one chair leg on the rope.
